Two incidents occurred in Annandale, Virginia this week. The first incident involves the owners of buildings destroyed in a fire failing to respond to code violation notices. The matter has been referred to the commonwealth's attorney's office. The second incident involves a pedestrian being hit by a Metrobus on Little River Turnpike, resulting in serious injuries. The police are investigating the bus crash.
Weekly Safety Report: Driver Injured in Vehicle Crash, Ashburn Man Arrested for Property Destruction
A driver was seriously injured after their vehicle crashed off a roadway and overturned in a wooded area in Ashburn, Virginia. The cause of the crash is unknown. Additionally, an Ashburn man was arrested for three incidents of destruction of property, causing an estimated $20,000 in damages. The incidents occurred at a McDonald's drive-thru and a Sheetz convenience store.

Local Resident Arrested for Robbery on Georgia Avenue, Accomplice Still at Large
Curtis Cardel Jackson, 32, from Washington D.C., was arrested for a robbery on Georgia Avenue, Gaithersburg, MD, on October 2, 2023. The crime took place at a Marathon Gas Station. Jackson and another man threatened an employee and stole money and items.

A resident reported an incident at Mattie Stepanek Park in the King Farm area of Rockville, Maryland on December 8, 2023, at 00:19. The concerned citizen reported seeing a man several times at night while walking their dogs. According to the report, the unidentified man, identifiable by a small, gray bicycle, is often seen covering his face with a black mask and hiding his hair with his hoodie. The resident observed the man exhibiting suspicious behavior, specifically, he was noticed peering into vehicles from the rear windows without engaging with the drivers directly. Additionally, a specific incident was mentioned where the man on the bike followed a driver who asked him to move away, raising concerns about safety in the neighborhood.
2nd assault in 10 days reported at Target in Rockville
For the second time in ten days, Montgomery County police were called to the Target store at 5700 Bou Avenue in Rockville, after a 2nd-degree assault was reported there. The assault was reported at 10:25 AM yesterday, December 7, 2023. A similar assault occurred at the store on November 26.

MARSHALL - A Madison High teacher was arrested Dec. 8 and charged with sexual misconduct with students, the Madison County Sheriff's Office confirmed. Christopher Chandler, who served as Madison High School's band director, is charged with two counts of taking indecent liberties with a student, according to Lt. The Chabad of Olney’s giant menorah was vandalized Thursday afternoon leading up to the first night of Hanukkah, according to Montgomery County Police.
