Hillsdale Hustlers 4-H Club
Members of the Hillsdale Hustlers 4-H Club held their April meeting on April 18 at the Marysville Township Hall. Leaders discussed with members changes for the fair, pre-entries, and the food stand. Important dates regarding Rabbit Club, Dog Show, Day Camp, and Fashion Review were released.

High school sports around the state of Kansas have come to an end for the 2023-2024 school year. This past weekend saw the completion of all state tournaments and the North Central Kansas League was paced by the Wamego Lady Raider softball team, who repeated as the Class 4A state champions. The Abilene Cowboy baseball team, Marysville Bulldog baseball and Lady Bulldog softball teams also qualified for their respective state tournaments, but only the Cowboy baseball team advanced beyond the first round as the Cowboys finished in third place at the Class 4A baseball tournament.
Cortland man cited for shooting and killing dog on his property, sheriff’s office says
CORTLAND, Neb. (KOLN) - A Cortland man was cited for shooting and killing a neighbor’s dog on his property, according to the Gage County Sheriff’s Office. Through the investigation, it was revealed that 57-year-old Roy Schroeder shot and killed a neighbor’s dog that was running through his garage and yard. The dog passed away on Schroeder’s back patio where they were having a gathering, according to Sheriff Millard Gustafson.
