Henderson man arrested on possession of meth charges following moped accident; Henderson woman injured in separate wreck


A Henderson woman was injured in a two-vehicle wreck Wednesday at the intersection of 12th and North Elm streets.

The Henderson Police Department, Henderson Fire Department and American Medical Response responded to the intersection of North Elm and 12th streets for a car accident.

Police said that 24-year-old Gabrielle Grass was driving southbound on North Elm Street at the 12th Street intersection when another vehicle traveling east on 12th Street collided with the passenger side of Grass’s vehicle.

Grass was taken to Deaconess Henderson Hospital for non-life-threatening injury. Neither the other driver, 64-year-old Pamela Denton nor passenger 75-year-old Sandra Hagan were injured.

Henderson Police also responded to a moped accident with injuries at 11:38 p.m. Friday. The accident occurred at the intersection of Fifth Street and Heilman Avenue.

Police said that the driver, 67-year-old Doris Cunningham, was located and appeared to be intoxicated from alcohol. Officers said they found a small baggy full of what appeared to be methamphetamine on the ground near Cunningham’s moped.

Cunningham was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine. Cunningham was arrested and transported to the Henderson County Detention Center.
