It has been quite a year for Trebelhorn representing Winthrop. “I was really close with Lexi Henningson and she was kind of the one who convinced me,” she said. FIRST ALERT: Storm will bring heavy rain today, more snow tomorrow
A powerful winter/spring storm system will continue to bring much-needed precipitation through Tuesday. Another half inch to 1 inch of rain is possible through Monday night with rain changing back to snow late Monday night into Tuesday morning. Another inch or so of snow will be possible on Tuesday with strong wind creating areas of blowing snow on Tuesday. Snow will end, wind will decrease, and conditions will begin to improve late Tuesday and Tuesday night. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Mankato/North Mankato area from late Monday night through Tuesday morning.
Snow emergency declared for the city of Montgomery
SNOW EMERGENCY DECLARED FOR THE CITY OF MONTGOMERY. Effective TODAY 2:00 PM SUNDAY, March 24, 2024....... Please be advised that the City of Montgomery has declared a SNOW EMERGENCY. Plows will be out to clear the streets curb-to-curb. The Snow Emergency is in effect until NOON MONDAY, March 25th, 2024. Once a snow emergency has been declared it is unlawful to park a vehicle on any public street, excluding the Central Business District, until it has been fully cleared, curb-to-curb. The Central Business District is defined as First Street and one block east and west of it between Oak and Boulevard Avenues. Vehicles cannot be parked in the Central Business District after 2:00 a.m. until it has been fully cleared, curb-to-curb. Residents will be allowed to park in the city parking lots until the Snow Emergency is over. However, vehicles must be removed from City Parking lots within 24 hours after the Snow Emergency is over. ** Violators will be ticketed. **
Central FFA gets ‘wild’ in contest
Earlier in the winter, several Norwood Young America FFA members went to compete in the regional Fish and Wildlife contest at Maple River High School in Mapleton. The varsity team consisted of Jacob Hoen, Kate Noll, Kort Booth, Alec Minkel, and Bryce Urness. As a team, they finished just outside the top 5 in a very competitive field of students. A JV individual from NYA, Cameron Kotecki, also placed a valiant effort in the event. The Fish and Wildlife contest mainly consisted of identifying a broad range of wildlife from fish to birds as well as a test consisting of different animal questions and technology relating to wildlife management.
