HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – Firefighters and police squared off at the Ford Center for the annual Guns & Hoses boxing event.

After all the preparation and training, it was the Hoses team that came away with the victory. They now lead the series 9-7.

911 Gives Hope took to Facebook and thanked everyone who helped put on the event. Officials said prep started at 5:15 a.m. and the ring was put away at 1:15 a.m.

“To all the fighters, coaches and trainers, we love you and thank you for your dedication to this event. You are all winners,” officials said. “Once again, thank you to our supporters, sponsors, volunteers and fighters.”

Officials also said numerous volunteers clocked in excess of 250,000 steps combined.

A large portion of the event’s proceeds will go towards raising awareness of Prader-Willi syndrome, a rare disease that causes a constant feeling of hunger. Some proceeds will also be donated to charities involving local children and people with disabilities.
