Target Area: Ballard; Carlisle; Daviess; Fulton; Graves; Henderson; Hickman; McLean; Union. Locally dense fog is expected to persist until sunrise due to clear skies, calm winds, and recent rainfall. This fog may cause reduced visibility, especially in western Kentucky, southern Illinois, and southeast Missouri. Drivers should be cautious and prepared for rapidly changing visibility. However, conditions are expected to improve significantly after sunrise.
Severe Thunderstorm Warning by NWS
Instruction: For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. A severe thunderstorm warning is still in effect until 8:15 PM CDT for Vanderburgh, northeastern Posey, and north central Henderson counties. As of 7:53 PM CDT, two severe thunderstorms were identified near Blairsville and Kasson, moving east at a speed of 25 mph. The storms bring the potential for 60 mph wind gusts and hail the size of half dollars. A recent observation near Poseyville reported hail the size of nickels. The anticipated impact includes damage to vehicles from hail and potential damage to roofs, siding, and trees from strong winds. The affected locations encompass Evansville, Henderson, Melody Hill, Darmstadt, Blairsville, and Kasson, including sections of Interstate 69 between Mile Markers 1 and 3, as well as between Mile Markers 14 and 19. The observed maximum hail size is 1.25 inches, and the radar indicates a maximum wind gust of 60 mph.
