A caller told the Henagar Police Department that a woman was shot at 131 Kelly Drive. It happened around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Henagar and DeKalb County Police found the injured woman at this address.

They quickly gave her aid and transported her to a medical center, according to police.

Officers were told that the suspect fled into the woods nearby. DeKalb Sheriff Nick Welden said officers quickly set up a perimeter and blocked off roadways.

Their Special Response Team then arrived to assist. Shortly after, they found the suspect in the wooded area.

At this time, police said they took him into custody.

DeKalb Officers said they arrested Cobb and charged him with first-degree assault and shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Police are still investigating this incident. According to Sheriff Welden, they expect more charges to come.

“It’s unfortunate something like this has happened in a small town like Henagar,” Sheriff Welden said. “We ask you to keep the families and this lady in your prayers as she recovers.”
