NCPD: Man Accused of Kicking in Door of New Cassel Residence, Assaulting Homeowner During Dispute

The Third Squad reports the arrest of a Far Rockaway man for an Assault that occurred on Monday, May 29, 2023 at 5:15 a.m. in New Cassel.
 
According to detectives, police responded to a Broadway home for a disturbance. Anthony Lucien, 32, of 453 Beach 40th Street, had gotten into a verbal argument with a 56-year-old male victim in a vehicle parked outside of the location after attending a party. 
 
The victim exited the vehicle to go back into the house when defendant Lucien followed him. The defendant proceeded to grab, push and eventually strike the victim in his head. During the physical altercation, the 36-year-old, male, home owner came outside and intervened. 
 
The homeowner and the victim went inside the house. Defendant Lucien followed them and kicked in the front door of the residence, rendering it broken. The verbal argument and ensuing altercation all occurred in the presence of a minor being cared for by the victim and defendant.
 
While placing defendant Lucien under arrest, he became combative, and a police offer sustained a hand injury.
 
Defendant Anthony Lucien is charged with Assault 2nd degree, Assault 3rd degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd degree, Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Resisting Arrest. 
 
He will be arraigned on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
