TV, movie actor Barry Corbin to give presentation at WSU
Veteran actor Barry Corbin will be making a presentation at Wichita State University as part of his appearance in Wichita for the Tallgrass Film Festival. Corgin will present “Barry Corbin: From Shakespeare to Cowboys,” from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, October 6th in 200 Ahlberg Hall on the WSU campus. Admission is free. His appearance is sponsored by Wichita State’s Department of History and the Society for Public Historians.

Kitchen shut down for remodeling at Sedgwick County jail
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said the kitchen in the detention facility has been closed for repairs and renovation. The kitchen has been moved to an auxiliary area of the jail whil repairs are made, and workers have also been making repairs to the plumbing system. It’s expected the kitchen will be closed over the next two weeks because of repairs on damaged drain lines.
