DERBY, Kan. (KAKE) - Two people and their pets are lucky to be alive after a house fire in Derby on Wednesday night. The Derby Fire Marshall says just before 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday, neighbors reported fire engulfing the rear of a home in the 1200 block of Briarwood. Derby units arrived on the scene within three minutes and began to work to extinguish the fire.
