Hays Fire Department
On June 3 at approximately 4:34 p.m. the Hays Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a fire in a apartment complex located at 2704 Epworth Steet in Hays.
Arriving fire crews found smoke coming from the apartment. Fire crews deployed an attack line to extinguish the fire and was quickly brought under control. Crews stayed on scene for several hours to clear out smoke and CO gases in neighboring apartments. Fire damage was limited to the original apartment.
No injuries from the occupants or first responders were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
