McPHERSON – The Hays High girls’ soccer team defeated Salina South 3-0 Friday to finish third at the McPherson Invitational.
Hays scored a goal in the first half then two in the second as they improve to 3-1 on the season. The Cougars fell to 2-2-1.
Sophomore Dani Willeford scored two goals and freshman Kinsley Newell added the other. Katie Dinkel, Annie Humphrey and Willeford all had an assist.
Katie Gutierrez had four saves in goal.
The Indians travel to Dodge City Tuesday.
