Local fifth grader to race at Stateline Speedway
POST FALLS — It’s ready, set and go, for Caelem Stewart, a Valley View Elementary fifth grader, will be racing Saturday night at Stateline Speedway. He also will be visiting with Restorium residents and the community at a Sunday lunch event. The youth and his parents will be on hand from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
OHS Forestry Team Earns 3rd Place Recognition at Idaho State Forestry Contest
OROFINO - On May 9, 2024, eight students from Orofino High School’s Introduction to Fisheries, Wildlife, and Forestry (FWF) class participated in the 41st Idaho State Forestry Contest in Farragut State Park (Athol, ID). There were nearly 200 student participants from all over the state. The annual contest assesses students' forestry skills and resource management knowledge. Each student must complete nine assessments on the following topics: Map Reading, Tree Measurement, Noxious Weeds, Log Scaling, Native Tree/Shrub Identification, Tree Health, Soil and Water Quality, Compass and Pacing, and Silviculture.
STATE SOFTBALL: Tournaments head north for final weekend
It will be a long journey north for some of the top prep softball teams in the state. SOFTBALL: Badgers end season, Timberlake nabs fifth straight district title
SPIRIT LAKE — Bonners Ferry softball ended their season on Thursday, May 9 as Timberlake swept the 3A Intermountain League District 1 title in two games. Acacia Pecor struck out 10, walked one and pitched a two-hitter, and the top-seeded Timberlake Tigers beat the second-seeded Bonners Ferry Badgers 12-2 in six innings. Timberlake won its fifth straight district title, and 17th district title since 2000.
Traffic delays expected for lane closures at Mullan and Greensferry intersection
POST FALLS, Idaho — Drivers in Post Falls can expect delays in their drive from multiple lane closures at the East Mullan Avenue and North Greensferry Road intersection.
