HAWKINS, Texas — A GoFundMe has been created for a beloved East Texas student-athlete who recently suffered a serious injury.
According to Hawkins ISD, prayers and financial support are being sought for baseball player River Hammond.
Per the GoFundMe, Hammond was in an accident Friday, May 26, during which he suffered a traumatic brain injury. Details regarding the accident are unknown at this time.
"His full prognosis is currently unknown, but his road to recovery will be lengthy," the donation page said. "Any help towards his medical bills and recovery would be greatly appreciated."
The GoFundMe is hoping to raise $4,000 for Hammond and his family.
