ISLAND OF OAHU IN HONOLULU COUNTY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...The island of Oahu in Honolulu County.
* WHEN...Until 800 AM HST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 451 AM HST, radar indicated moderate to heavy rain over
east Oahu, with rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour.
Additional rainfall is developing to the south and will
continue to move northward into Oahu, making for a wet early
morning commute. Stream levels remain elevated across the
island.
- This advisory includes the entire island of Oahu.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.
Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.
A Flood Watch is also in effect through Friday evening.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 800 AM HST if flooding;
persists.

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR SOUTH FACING SHORES OF ALL HAWAIIAN
ISLANDS UNTIL 6 PM HST SATURDAY...
.Rough conditions are expected along south facing shores today
due to a combination of moderate to breezy onshore winds and a
long-period south-southwest swell peaking. This swell will linger
through the day Saturday, with the winds shifting back out of the
east to southeast direction.
...HIGH SURF ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM HST SATURDAY...
* WHAT...Surf of 7 to 10 feet.
* WHERE...South-facing shores of all Hawaiian Islands.
* WHEN...Until 6 PM HST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents
will make swimming dangerous.

Heed all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don't
go out.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Kauai, Oahu and Niihau.
* WHEN...Through this evening.
* IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow of
streams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, along
with property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff.
Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A band of moderate to heavy showers with isolated
thunderstorms will slowly move through the western islands
today, increasing the threat for flash flooding through this
evening. All islands in the Flood Watch area should be
prepared for the possibility of flash flooding.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

HONOLULU (KITV4) -- The Hawaii State Department of Health (DOH) reported three new deaths related to COVID-19 and 349 new infections over the last seven days in Hawaii. The total number of deaths stands at 1,918.
The statewide test positivity rate is 6.6%. -- the positivity rate in Honolulu County is 9.4%; on the Big Island it's 3.5%; in Maui County it's 4.4%; and on Kauai it is 7.3%. Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 390,694 total infections to date.
Beginning on Sept. 28, 2022, DOH said it would now include COVID re-infections in its weekly numbers.
The new infections on each island stands as follows:
Oahu: 208
Hawaii Island: 76
Maui: 38
Kauai: 19
Molokai: 2
Lanai: 1
There were six new cases reported from Hawaii residents who were diagnosed out-of-state.
There are 39 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19 – 78.8% of the population is fully vaccinated.
More than 348,000 residents have also received their first COVID-19 booster shot in the last 12 months – 23.4% of the eligible population. Another 22.3% of the population has gotten their second booster shot.
The percentage of completed their primary series of vaccinations, per county, stands as follows:
Honolulu County: 82%
Hawaii County 70%
Maui County: 72%
Kauai County: 73%
