    (WTNH) – Looking for weekend activities? We have eight ideas for you!

    The country’s best female gymnasts will compete in Hartford on their way to the Paris Olympics during the Core Hydration Classic at the XL Center.

    Enjoy a family fun day Saturday at Jeeps for Wishes at the Hebron Lions Fairgrounds. See tons of cool Jeeps while raising money for kids battling illnesses.

    Saturday, attend the Lantern Illumination Celebration at Valley Regional High School to support The Nest, a coffee shop employing those of all abilities.

    Take part in the 2nd Annual Dan the Man 5K Run/Walk at the Pistol Creek Trails on Saturday, honoring a local dad and supporting ALS United.

    Enjoy a plant sale and family farm day on Saturday to support Serenity Farm Horse Rescue , a non-profit that rehabilitates horses in crisis.

    Sunday, celebrate the anniversary of Autumn Ridge – home of the Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue . Meet the horses and take wagon rides.

    Sunday, head to Jillson Square for the 9th Annual Thread City Hop Fest with sixty-plus New England breweries, wineries, cideries and distilleries

    Check out the ASRC Walk for Autism and Resource Fair at Quinnipiac University’s North Haven campus on Sunday. News 8’s Sarah Cody will be there as emcee.
