Boys & Girls Club receives substantial donation
The Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks received a donation from a former Branson Alderman. Bill Skains unsuccessfully ran for an Alderman position with the city of Branson in the April election. After his run, the remaining funds in his campaign were donated to the Boys & Girls Club of the Ozarks.
Tornado spotted at golf course in Hollister
TANEY COUNTY, Mo. – A tornado was spotted at Payne’s Valley Golf Course in Hollister Monday afternoon. The tornado briefly touched ground around 3:50 p.m. damaging trees and flipping over golf carts. Hidden camera identifies county park vandals
A recent break in at the Taney County Fairgrounds resulted in damages to the office, concession and stage area. Items were also stolen that are required to host events. Forsyth Police Chief Patrick Gray stated the property has been hit by vandals in the past. Last month’s mischief was caught on a hidden camera. The video helped a great deal in identifying the suspects.

The 2020 Winner of the Hooked! Songwriting Contest will be performing on Saturday, May 18, at The Nest in Branson. Darby Dougherty is a pop-oriented singer-songwriter who focuses on expressing human experience through her music. Bearfoot Studios opens in Hollister
A new fitness studio has opened in Hollister and offers a variety of opportunities for those interested in healthy living. Bearfoot Studios, located at 215 Gage Drive Suite C, offers classes including Jiu Jitsu, yoga and group fitness. Co-Owner Angel Adams told Branson Tri-Lakes News she taught her first yoga class in the new location on the morning of May 13.
Twinkle Market celebrates new location
Community members recently gathered on historic Downing Street in Hollister to welcome a familiar face to its new location. Twinkle Market, a unique home decor shop previously located just a few doors down from its new location, celebrated the opening of its new location at 15B Downing Street with a ribbon cutting on the afternoon of Friday, May 10. Hollister Mayor Lamar Patton put the celebration in motion by sharing his appreciation for the business.
