HANSON - Federal agents executed a search warrant at a home on East Washington Street in Hanson on Wednesday.

"I'm surprised. It makes me a little nervous," said Peter Anderson.

"It's a close-knit community. Everybody that's here has been here for years and years," said Jeff Hunter.

Neighbors watched on while federal agents surrounded the property with black SUVs and packed boxes into a moving truck parked in the driveway.

"They backed the truck in so nobody can see what they were doing," said Hunter.

United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) agents and K9's spent hours searching the area, including the backyard. The Animal Rescue League confirmed it was at the home, and neighbors said they saw several dogs taken from the home.

Hunter, who lives next door, has known the homeowners for years and told WBZ he was shocked by the police presence .

"It's pretty quiet. We don't have any problems around. All our neighbors are great," said Hunter, who told WBZ TV he spoke to upset neighbors.

WBZ reached out to local and federal law enforcement agencies, including the US Attorney's office, who would not confirm why the search warrant was issued.
