Severn resident Adam Rey Wolford, 33, is facing a host of charges after a reported assault in Hanover set off a series of events that landed him behind bars, officials say.

Officers received multiple reports shortly before 2 a.m. on Sunday, June 4 of an erratic driver who caused a stir outside of 7-Eleven on Dorsey Road following an incident in the parking lot of the Cancun Cantina on Old Telegraph Road.

According to police, Wolford’s initial victim was able to escape an assault outside the dance club with an assist from nearby bystanders, and the group made their way to the front of 7-Eleven.

Meanwhile, Wolford got into a red Jeep Cherokee, began driving and shouting at the group.

Witnesses say that Wolford struck an occupied parked vehicle on Old Telegraph Road before speeding into the parking lot and hitting three pedestrians. He then circled around, struck the same parked vehicle, and fled the area.

He was ultimately tracked down not far from 7-Eleven on Queenstown Road near Ayrshire Court, where he was arrested and charged by officers with attempted murder, assault, and other offenses.

The people in the parked vehicle that was struck twice were uninjured, according to police. The pedestrians who were hit were taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

No information about Wolford’s initial court appearance has been released by the department.
