Opinion: Hingham Girl Scout Troop Collecting School Supplies
Did you know that about 15 million students in the US don’t have basic school supplies? Also, 95% of elementary teachers spend their own money on classroom supplies. And, families can expect to spend an average of $890 on school supplies. We are Girl Scout Troop #67831, and for our Silver Award Project, we are collecting school supplies to give to schools in need in Brockton. You can help by dropping off new and gently used school supplies in the donation boxes at The Barrel (Hingham location), the Hingham Girl Scout House, and AZ Studios. We are collecting:
Duxbury crash leads to DUI, multiple charges for Barre woman
DUXBURY — A two-vehicle collision on VT RT 100 near Lavanway Rd resulted in multiple charges for a 24-year-old Barre woman on April 17. Troopers from the Berlin Barracks responded to the scene at 5:14 p.m., where they found a single white vehicle in a ditch and the driver, identified as Harley Porter, reportedly yelling at fire and EMS personnel.

Assaults reported at Kingston school
In the public participation segment of the Silver Lake Regional School Committee meeting April 9, two parents addressed the board seeking explanations and assurances that their young children were safe at the Kingston Elementary School. George Egan from Kingston said in light of the reported assault by a student on a kindergarten student in the bathroom, he is against laying off any staff. The incident took place in 2022 but is just now coming to light.
