516 ON THIS TUESDAY MORNING. LET’S CHECK IN WITH METEOROLOGIST DAMON SINGLETON DAMON. WARM START ONCE AGAIN. IT IS. IT’S A PRETTY MILD AND HUMID MORNING ALL ACROSS SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA. YOU’RE GOING TO NOTICE THOSE HIGHER DEW POINTS DOWN HERE ON THE SOUTH SHORE. AND WE’VE HAD SOME RAINFALL OVER THE LAST SEVERAL HOURS. SO THERE MAY BE SOME WET ROADS THAT YOU MAY HAVE TO DEAL WITH AS YOU HEAD OUT THE DOOR THIS MORNING. LET ME SHOW YOU OUT IN THE TROPICS. WE’VE GOT ONE AREA THAT THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER HAS IDENTIFIED, BUT IT’S ALL THE WAY OVER BY THE AZORES OR BETWEEN THE AZORES AND THE CANARY ISLANDS, AND NOT AN ISSUE FOR US HERE IN SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA AND ALL. IT’S GOT A 10% CHANCE TO DEVELOP INTO A TROPICAL SYSTEM. SO WE’LL KEEP OUR EYES ON THAT AND WE’LL LET YOU KNOW AS THINGS CHANGE. OTHERWISE, FOR US HERE LOCALLY. WELL, WE’VE GOT A COUPLE OF SPOTTY SHOWERS THAT REMAIN WITH US ACROSS PARTS OF THE AREA. BUT OVERALL, MOST OF US ARE THE VAST MAJORITY OF US ARE DRY RIGHT NOW. AND I’M EXPECTING MORE RAINFALL AS WE GO THROUGH THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS, BUT NOT MUCH. NOT NOT MUCH IN TERMS OF THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY UNTIL THIS AFTERNOON. BUT HERE’S A LITTLE BIT OF THE RAINFALL THAT’S MAKE ITS WAY FROM LAKE PONTCHARTRAIN INTO LAKE MOAPA AND SOME OF THE LIGHT RAINFALL THAT IS OTHERWISE AFFECTING PARTS OF SLIDELL AND OVER TOWARDS EAST NEW ORLEANS AT THE AIRPORT RIGHT NOW, IT’S 73 DEGREES. BUT THE DEW POINT IS AT 70 AS WELL. SO 90% HUMIDITY. YOU’LL NOTICE THE HUMIDITY WHEN YOU STEP OUTSIDE THE DOOR, DOWN HERE ON THE SOUTH SHORE, CALM WINDS FEELS LIKE TEMPERATURE, SAME AS THE ACTUAL TEMPERATURE ON THE NORTH SHORE. THE DEW POINTS ARE IN THE MID 60S, BUT THE TEMPERATURE IS 6 TO 7 DEGREES. OVER IN BOGALUSA. SO TWO DEGREES BETWEEN THOSE TWO MEANS 93% HUMIDITY, VISIBILITY IS ONLY ONE MILE OFF IN BOGALUSA AS WELL. SO THEY’RE DEALING WITH SOME MEASURE OF FOG UP THERE AS WELL. RAINFALL CHANCES FOR THE NEXT FEW HOURS WHILE PRIMARILY ALONG THE COASTLINE AS WE GO THROUGH NINE AND 10 A.M. THIS MORNING. THEN YOU’LL NOTICE SOME MORE SCATTERED SHOWERS AND A FEW STORMS DEVELOPING DOWN HERE ON THE SOUTH SHORE LATER THIS MORNING. THEN STRETCHING ON TO THE NORTH SHORE AS WE GO INTO THE AFTERNOON HOURS ON THE DAY TO DAY, I’VE GOT ABOUT A 50% CHANCE OF RAIN IN THE FORECAST TOMORROW. A SIMILAR PICTURE IN THE MORNING WITH SOME COASTAL RAINFALL WITH US. AND SOME THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY A POSSIBILITY ALONG THE COASTLINE AS WELL DURING THOSE EARLY MORNING HOURS. AND THEN AS WE GO INTO THE AFTERNOON WITH THE HEATING OF THE DAY AND THE HIGH HUMIDITY AND THE SOUTHERLY WINDS AND THE SEABREEZE, WELL, WE’VE GOT SCATTERED SHOWERS AND STORMS. BACK WITH US ONCE AGAIN, ALTHOUGH I’VE GOT OUR RAIN CHANCES LOWER TOMORROW THAN FOR TODAY. AND THEN FOR THURSDAY, I’VE GOT THOSE RAIN CHANCES IS STILL WITH US, BUT EVEN LOWER, MAYBE ABOUT A 30% CHANCE AND THEN MUCH DRIER CONDITIONS ARE ON THE WAY FOR FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. FISHERMEN AND FISH AND WOMEN TAKE A LOOK AT THESE NUMBERS. TWO FEET IS THE RANGE OF TIDE OVER GRAND. DOW 1.2 AT THE WRIGLEY’S AND AT THE SOUTHWEST PASS 2.6 AND PRETTY GOOD NUMBERS FOR ALL YOU FISHERMEN AND OUT THERE. HERE’S YOUR SEVEN DAY FORECAST. RAIN CHANCES DOWN TO 30% ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY, 30% ON SATURDAY, 20% ON SUNDAY AND MONDAY. AND TH

The convective development that we witnessed on Monday will continue this week at least through Wednesday and possibly Thursday. SELA is under the influence of a weak and broad upper-level low that is creating the instability that will likely interact with seabreeze and outflow boundaries resulting in the convection that will probably peak in the afternoon hours when instability is greatest with daytime heating. The primary concern from these strong to severe storms would be hail and strong damaging wind gusts.Spring tide conditions continue to effect areas around Bay St Louis and Waveland with minor tidal flooding of low-lying roads possible this afternoon. The minor coastal flooding could be up to 1 foot above ground level during the high tide cycle in the late morning and early afternoon hours. Because of this, a Coastal Flood Advisory has been issued for coastal Hancock County until 7pm.Tuesday: Expect a partly to mostly cloudy, warm and humid day with a 40% chance of rain and storms and afternoon temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.Wednesday: A mostly cloudy, hot and humid day with a 40% chance of rain and storms and afternoon temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s.Thursday: A mostly cloudy and hot day with a 30% chance of rain and storms and afternoon temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s.Friday: A partly cloudy and hot day with a 30% chance of rain and storms and afternoon temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s.Saturday: A partly cloudy and hot day with a 30% chance of rain and storms and afternoon temperatures in the upper 80s to low 90s.Sunday: A mostly sunny and hot day with a 20% chance of rain and afternoon temperatures in the low 90s.Monday: A partly cloudy and hot day with a 20 to 30% chance of rain and afternoon temperatures in the low 90s.
