HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – A man has been sent to the hospital with serious injuries following a shooting Saturday evening in Hampton.
According to police, the call for the shooting came in around 5:25 p.m. in the first block of Sacramento Dr. Police say a man was found inside a residence suffering from gunshot wounds.
The 28-year-old man was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police say a preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was outside when he was struck by gunfire with an unknown person. The victim then ran to a nearby residence to seek help.
The shooting appears to be an isolated incident, according to police.
No further information has been released at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
