More than 19,000 undergraduate and graduate students received their degrees this month during ceremonies at UMass Amherst, UMass Boston, UMass Dartmouth, UMass Lowell, UMass Law School, and the Chan Medical School. Most of these students will stay in Massachusetts to build careers, start businesses, and establish their lives. They join the UMass alumni family of more than 360,000 throughout the state, and more than 630,000 worldwide.
Passenger seriously injured in crash on I-95
HAMPTON, N.H. — State police said two people were injured when a car slammed into a concrete barrier at the Hampton Toll Plaza on Interstate 95. The crash happened shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday. State police said that when troopers arrived the passenger was not alert. They could not get into the car through the passenger side doors because of the damage. Trooper Daniel Bourque broke the rear passenger side window to get inside and assess the passenger's injuries. That person was taken by ambulance to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Team NH shines at Destination Imagination Global Finals in Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, MO –Sixteen teams from New Hampshire were among the over 600 teams from around the US and the World competing at Destination Imagination Global Finals this week in Kansas City, MO. Global Finals culminates a year in which teams must solve one of six complex STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) or Service Learning Challenges. NASHUA, NH – In an afternoon of lead changes and late-game drama, the Nashua Silver Knights captured their first victory of 2024 in a thrilling 8-7 extra-inning finish.
