Police have made an arrest after an hours-long barricade situation in Hampstead.
Just before 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, officers were called to the 1400 block of Fairmount Road for reports of a suicidal person.
When the call was made, family members were in the home with the person. They were concerned about firearms being inside the residence.
Officers from the Carroll County Sheriff's Office assisted Hampstead Police.
After the family members were able to leave the house, negotiators spoke to the person throughout the day.
At 5:46 p.m., officers arrested the person without incident. They were taken to the Carroll Hospital Center for a behavioral health evaluation.
