Woman dies in Audubon County crash involving semi

AUDUBON COUNTY, Iowa — The Iowa State Patrol says an Audubon woman died Wednesday in a traffic accident near Hamlin.

According to the ISP crash report, the crash happened at the intersection of Highway 71 and 220th Street around 2:16 p.m. Sheryl Zinke,73, was driving a Buick Century westbound on 220th St. when the ISP says she failed to yield from a stop sign and was struck by a northbound Peterbilt semi-truck.

Zinke was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi, 42-year-old Ross Miller of Carroll, was not injured in the collision.

The Iowa State Patrol’s investigation continues.
