Lions Clubs donates $100,000 to roofing project in Amory
Lions Clubs International donated $100,000 to help with rebuilding roofs in Amory. Tornado victims recieve new roofs with the help of local organizations. The Freeman family is one of many that will benefit from a large donation to the Morone Strong Foundation. The Lions of Mississippi donated $100,000 to the non-profit organization to help reroof homes in Monroe County.
Columbus High School football begins spring football practice with new head coach
COLUMBUS, Miss (WTVA) - The Columbus high school football team had their first practice for spring football on Monday. Barrin Simpson is the head coach for the Falcons. This is his first year with the Falcons. This is also his first year as a head coach. He's spent the past 10 years as an assistant coach at multiple high schools in the state of Texas. "I'm excited about it. It's a great opportunity with a great group of kids," says Simpson.
