HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. —
The state of Tennessee is looking to provide more money to Hamilton County to reimburse efforts to pick up trash along state highways.

Under the new contract, the county would receive almost double for the cleanup, going from $32 a mile to $60 per mile.
Commissioners say the new money will help stop a growing problem across the county.
"We gotta figure something out. We're becoming a dirty county," says one commissioner. "I can think of one road in particular full of debris and so forth."
The county would not be reimbursed for cleanup around county roads.
Wednesday Administrator Christy Cooper called for commissioners to consider more enforcement and prevention involving litter around those areas.
The City of Chattanooga renewed a contract with the state to help with litter earlier this year.
