Hagerstown Police continued to investigate Friday afternoon who shot a woman in her South End apartment early that morning, Lt. Rebecca Fetchu said.

The woman is expected to make a full recovery, according to a police news release.

Fetchu said the shooting was not a random event and there was no danger to the public in the area.

A man who lives in the same apartment as the woman was arrested and charged with firearms- and narcotics-related violations after an officer responding to the shooting saw the man between houses in that block — the 400 block of South Potomac Street, according to the release.

Russell Younker, 37, also was charged on a warrant from an incident earlier in the week that occurred outside the nearby Locust Point Market, Fetchu said. On the warrant, Younker's charges include first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, she said.
