Next week the Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will be holding a class for some who take care of children.

Extension K-12 Coordinator Meghan McBride says that the office will hold a Babysitting Basics class on June 1st from 9am to 3pm. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio what they will go over in the class.

“Babysitter responsibilities, kind of what employers expect. Caring for infants and younger children, and then we’ll go over some toys, activities, and then how to handle emergencies and basic first aid and respond to that sort of thing.”

The class is being offered for those in fifth grade and up, and will take place at the County Extension Office. Those interested in taking the class do need to sign up, and they can do that by registering at the link here.
