Later, many Caribbean countries lent their support. While I was overjoyed, it dawned on me that these countries have powerful UN seats and political power that they never used to help Black Americans or themselves. The Irony is Black Americans used the Congressional Black Caucus, protests, and widespread boycotting to end apartheid. Caribbeans have benefitted from Civil Rights, immigration policies, HBCUs, and scholarships developed by Black Americans. Stranger still, many of the victims of violence and police brutality are in fact, Africans and Caribbeans.
