A Griggsville man is facing charges after authorities say he unlawfully went into a home and attacked a person, according to the Pike County Sheriff’s Department.

On May 26, 2023, at 11:58 p.m.. the sheriff's department was sent to a home in the 400 block of South Pearl Street in Griggsville regarding the home invasion.

Subsequent to an investigation, deputies said they determined that Trenton D. Slight, 33, broke into the home and battered someone inside the house. Additionally, a person in the home had an active order of protection against Slight.

Slight fled before officers arrived, and they were unable to locate Trenton that evening. However, on May 30, Trenton turned himself in to authorities.

Slight is charged with several offenses:

• Home Invasion
• Battery
• Violation of an Order of Protection
• Criminal Trespass to Residence

Slight was lodged in the Pike County Jail.
