Motorcyclist dies after crash in Gresham

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — A motorcyclist has died from injuries sustained in a crash involving a vehicle in Gresham early Wednesday evening, police said.

At around 5:15 p.m., officers and emergency crews responded to a report of the crash at Northwest Birdsdale Avenue north of Division Street.

On arrival, officials said the motorcyclist was injured, but alert and communicating with EMS responders. The motorcyclist was then taken to a hospital for further treatment.

The driver of the vehicle involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, officials say.

However, shortly before 8 p.m., authorities say the motorcyclist died in the hospital.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and the cause of the crash has not been released at this time.
