Police arrest 61-year-old Portland man in Gresham homicide

Ervin Standifer Jr. faces second-degree murder charges in the death of Michael Lashone Hatcher.

Police arrested a 61-year-old Portland man in the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old Portland man found dead in Gresham on Friday.

Police say they found Michael Lashone Hatcher of Portland on a sidewalk in the 500 block of Southeast 197th Avenue around 7:20 a.m.

Court records show 61-year-old Ervin Standifer Jr. is accused of shooting Hatcher on Thursday.

Gresham and Portland police arrested Standifer on Tuesday and booked him into the Multnomah County Detention Center, where he remains, jail records show.
