GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – Police say a man went into a downtown Greenville store, caused damage, and attempted to a break a door before leaving with a knife.
According to the Greenville Police Department, officers responded to the Mast General Store on North Main Street for a man who came into the store, started to damage it, stole items, then attempted to break a door.
Officers said the man left the store armed with a knife and a cane before they arrived.
Police then found the man on a platform in ONE City Plaza.
Greenville Police said their crisis negotiation team was able to convince the man to surrender the knife and cane and get down from the platform.
