New development plans have been approved for a site that once was the home of Greenville's most prominent arena. The City's Design Review Board approved the architecture for a new development on the former site of the Greenville Memorial Auditorium.

That lot has sat vacant for over 25 years now and plans for the site have fallen through on multiple occasions in the past. The real estate developer for the project is NR Investments of Miami.

The site has been named Gracie Plaza. The new plaza will include nearly 300 residential units, commercial space, a restaurant and other features.

The developer has not announced the timeline for the project yet, but did say the estimated cost of the project is over 100 million dollars.
