A native of Chesapeake, Va., and a former product of nearby South Central High School in Winterville, N.C., Bouche has committed to ECU with two years of eligibility remaining.Bouche visited last week and formally ended up committing to the coaching staff last weekend. He's expected to enroll this summer.The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder brings the ability to play all over the infield to Greenville. He started at shortstop the majority of his freshman season for the Monarchs, before playing third and first base primarily as a sophomore. Bouche hit .299 with nine doubles, two triples and 11 homers with 45 RBIs, stealing three bases in 2023. He posted a .947 OPS, which ranked among the best on the team.Bouche's numbers took a hit in 2024, as he batted .241 with 11 doubles and four homers to go along with a .745 OPS. ECU hopes to unlock the success Bouche had his freshman season. The right-handed slugger could fill in at a variety of spots, especially with positions opening at shortstop and first base for the Pirates this offseason. ECU does return starting third baseman <a href="https://247sports.com/Player/dixon-williams-46094595/">Dixon Williams</a>, who hit .308 with nine homers and 11 doubles as a sophomore this past season. But most scouts consider second base Williams' more natural position, and he's also repped at shortstop and first base in the past. Freshman <a href="https://247sports.com/Player/colby-wallace-46103555/">Colby Wallace</a> - a two-way player - also has the ability to play third or first base, and he's coming off a solid initial season in the Purple and Gold.Bouche hit a home run this season against ECU and went a combined 3-for-6 with a homer, a double, two walks, and three RBIs in two games total against the Pirates this past season.
