David McKoy is the Owner and a licensed agent at CW Smith Insurance in Greensboro. He’s been in the business for over 30 years.
McKoy met his wife at the University of Georgia, and her dad was in insurance. So, ‘one thing led to another’ and McKoy himself got into the business.
CW Smith Insurance is celebrating 85 years of service in 2023.
“We’re not going anywhere,” McKoy said.
McKoy says there are two things that have kept them going.
“Our customers, we don’t have a business without our customers,” he said. “Number two it’s our dedicated and loyal staff.”
They handle personal loans, auto, boat, and umbrella, business insurance, commercial packages, life insurance and more.
“We are a family owned business,” McKoy said. “We pride ourselves on customer service.”
They are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Wednesday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
When asked about advertising on the radio, McKoy says it’s been a huge success.
“I get a lot of positive feedback… I know it’s working, people are hearing about us” he said. “We’ve advertised for a number of years and it is, other than word of mouth, is the best form of advertisement we use.”
