UM parking lot expansions slated for this summer
MISSOULA, Mont. — The University of Montana is expanding four parking lots this summer as work on a new residence hall is set to begin. The university has struggled with a lack of parking in recent years. UPDATE: Monday, May 13 at 1:32 p.m. A 20-year-old man died after a motorcycle and pickup-truck crashed near the Orange Street bridge in Missoula the evening of May 4. The 20-year-old man was riding a motorcycle, reportedly speeding northbound on South Orange Street and lost control near the intersection of First Street.
Missoula's Roxy Theater receives 15k grant from National Endowment of the Arts
The Roxy Theater on Missoula’s hip strip just received a 15-thousand-dollar grant for the Montana Film Festival from the National Endowment for the Arts for the first time. This spot has been open for about 90 years and screens films in many local festivals like the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, the International Wildlife Film Festival, and is the home of the Montana Film Festival – which is where the 15 thousand dollars of grant funding has been appointed.
Man who started 2021 Boulder fire has been sentenced
MISSOULA, Mont. - An arsonist has been sentenced to 60 years in Montana State Prison with 30 years suspended. 38-year-old Craig McCrea was found guilty of two counts of felony arson back in February. McCrea was responsible for the Boulder fire that burned over 2500 acres, destroyed 14 homes and forced thousands of people to evacuate Lake County.
