Heather Booth (middle) named the 2022 Van Zelderen Excellence Award Winner

The Greene County Medical Center held its annual Employee Service Award and Van Zelderen Excellence Award Ceremony.

The event began with acknowledgement of employee service milestones. Six individuals were recognized for five years of service to the medical center, while one person has worked there for ten years, another for 15 years, three people were there for 20 years, and one person celebrated 25 years. Sue Holden received recognition for her 40 years of service and Lori Sayer was honored for 45 years. Butterfield talked about those individuals that were highlighted.

“Thank you all for all of the service work recipients for your continued hard work and all the efforts that each and everyone of us is doing to make sure we’re always, ‘Always Here, Always Caring’ for our patients, our families, and all of the communities that we serve.”

The other portion of the ceremony was the announcement of the Van Zelderen Excellence Award recipient. Butterfield said this award is given to a medical center staff member that exhibits their PRIDE values, including patient-centered care, respect, integrity, dedication and empathy. He added this award is colleague-driven.

“What that means is the winner is selected by their fellow team members who review the nominations and they select the individual that they believe has made the most outstanding contributions over the course of the past year that have resulted in enhancements to our patient experiences.”

There were ten nominations and the recipient was Heath Booth. The program took place Wednesday in the main lobby of the medical center.
