Greencastle-Antrim baseball was scheduled to begin its state tournament journey at home on Monday, but that will not happen, as it will move right to the quarterfinals.

The Blue Devils have advanced to the next round of the PIAA Championships because their opponent, District 12 runner-up Franklin Towne Charter, has forfeited.

Greencastle-Antrim baseball fell to Mechanicsburg 6-1 in the district championship game on Tuesday, May 30, 2023

The PIAA confirmed in a tweet that the school's baseball and softball teams have voluntarily withdrawn from the tournament, and since it was on late notice, Greencastle baseball and Abington Heights softball were given 7-0 forfeit wins.

The Blue Devils will now await the winner of District 1 runner-up Upper Dublin (16-6) and District 11 champ Pocono Mountain East (16-6). That game will take place on Thursday. Time and location is TBD.

Greencastle is now 18-5 on the season, and is coming off a District 3 Championship game appearance, where it fell to Mechanicsburg 6-1.
