2023 Bellin Run offers a 5K in addition to traditional 10K. Here's what you need to know

GREEN BAY – The 2023 Bellin Run features a new wrinkle this year – a 5K option.

The 5K addition was made “to get more feet on the street in the name of health and wellness," according to the Bellin Run website.

The start and finish lines are the same, at Lawe Street and South Webster Avenue in front of Bellin Hospital, but the 5K participants will hang a left at Beaupre Street instead of continuing down Webster to Greene Avenue.

The start time is the same, too – 8 a.m.

Last year was the first in-person event after virtual ones were held in 2020 and 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. About 6,800 registered for the 2022 event.

If you’re planning to run, walk or cheer on others at the 47th annual Bellin Run, here is what you need to know.

Participants run on Webster Avenue at the start of the 2022 Bellin Run last June 11 in Green Bay.

Can I still register?

You can register online through Thursday for $45. You can also register in-person on Friday at Astor Park for $50. There is no in-person registration on race day.

Weather

After all this dry weather, we may finally see some rain ... on race day. The National Weather Service on Thursday forecast a 50% chance of showers with thunderstorms after 10 a.m. Saturday, when many have already finished the event. The high is expected to get to 79. Friday night's low will be around 56.

The Bellin Run has an Event Alert System for changing conditions.

No shuttle

There will be no shuttle program this year on race day. Organizers point out there is plenty of parking in nearby lots (look for signs) and on city streets.
