Dartmouth Civics and Rockefeller Center co-host ‘Hanover Demystified’ event
On May 9, the Dartmouth Civics Student Association collaborated with the Rockefeller Center for Public Policy to host an open candidate forum before the upcoming Hanover Town Meeting on May 14. The event, titled “Hanover Demystified,” was moderated by Student Government vice president Kiara Ortiz ’24 and included a Town Meeting information session, candidate forum and open house with current candidates.
Prosecutor won’t press charges against student-journalists arrested during protest

(WCAX) - Prosecutors have decided not to press charges against two Dartmouth College student-journalists arrested while covering a protest-- that’s according to the school’s student newspaper, The Dartmouth. The students were arrested on May 1 while covering the pro-Palestinian protest on the school’s Hanover campus.

On April 23, the Ivy League filed an amicus brief — a brief filed by external parties in “cases of significance or high interest,” according to the National Labor Relations Board website — to the NLRB. The brief sided with the Dartmouth Board of Trustees against the unionization of the College’s men’s basketball team.
Burlington man charged in child luring sting
HARTFORD, Vt. (WCAX) - A Burlington man faces child luring charges following a sting operation by Hartford Police. Police say Robert Charbonneau, 50, contacted a Hartford investigator online in October 2023 who was posing as a 14-year-old girl from Vermont. They say he allegedly engaged in conversations of an increasingly sexual nature and sent explicit images of himself.
Broadway veterans lend a hand to stage Hanover HS spring musical
HANOVER, N.H. (WCAX) - Students from Hanover High School this weekend are staging their spring musical production. The Footlighters’ production of “Mean Girls” opened Friday and runs through Sunday, one of three shows the theater club puts on each year. A group of Broadway veterans are lending their skills to bring the musical to life. The director, music director, and choreographer spent years working in professional theater and eventually brought their skills to the Upper Valley’s Northern Stage.
