JOHN DAY – Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley was on KJDY’s Coffee Time recently. The Sheriff said his department is currently seeking information on a man who used to live here, and is now a murder suspect. According to McKinley, Robert Crosby, who goes by Bobby, first came to Grant County in 2017 with the Rainbow Gathering. He said Crosby got into trouble last year:

“During the Timber Trucker’s Light Parade last year, [he] ended up stealing a vehicle out of Long Creek, and was arrested in Mt. Vernon that night. After that, being released from jail, he took off. We have warrants for him—still do—but we know where he is.

He ended up being the suspect in a murder in Montana and was actually piucked up in Wyoming. I’ve been working with the Sheriff’s Office up there quite heavily.”

Sheriff McKinley asked the public that if anyone has information—perhaps someone recently reached out to him between early December and the month of May—to contact the Sheriff’s Office with that information.
