Evacuation order issued in parts of San Joaquin County; Waters rise at Airport Court in Manteca | The San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office said on Saturday that evacuation orders have been issued for Airport Court in Manteca and Haven Acres Marina in Lathrop. Hazardous water levels in the San Joaquin River due to melting snow is the reason for the evacuation order, the sheriff's office said. Read more here.
2 hospitalized in Granite Bay after fallen tree lands on multiple vehicles, CHP says | A tree fell down in Granite Bay and struck two vehicles on Sunday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol's Auburn division. CHP said that the tree fell around 3:26 p.m. at Auburn Folsom Road near Douglas Boulevard and officers arrived at the scene. Both drivers were taken to a hospital after sustaining moderate injuries. 2 homicide victims found in Sutter County identified by sheriff's office | Two victims in a recent Sutter County homicide were identified by the sheriff's office on Sunday. The bodies of 40-year-old Elk Grove resident Vicky Keovilayphone and 40-year-old Yuba County resident Derrick James Engelman were found on Friday afternoon along a dirt road in Rio Oso dead from apparent gunshot wounds, according to the sheriff's office. Man dies in hospital after being shot in Stockton | A 27-year-old man was shot and killed near Flora Street and Wilson Way on Sunday, the Stockton Police Department said. Stockton police said that the shooting took place around 2:54 p.m. and medics transported the man to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. Read more here.

China's leader Xi in Moscow for meeting with Putin | Chinese leader Xi Jinping arrived in Moscow on Monday on a three-day visit that offers a strong political boost for Russian President Vladimir Putin as fighting in Ukraine grinds on. China and Russia have described Xi's trip as part of efforts to further deepen their "no-limits friendship." Read more here.
Pro-Moscow voices tried to steer Ohio train disaster debate | Soon after a train derailed and spilled toxic chemicals in Ohio last month, anonymous pro-Russian accounts started spreading misleading claims and anti-American propaganda about it on Twitter, using Elon Musk's new verification system to expand their reach while creating the illusion of credibility. UBS is buying Credit Suisse in bid to halt banking crisis | Switzerland's biggest bank, UBS, has agreed to buy its ailing rival Credit Suisse in an emergency rescue deal aimed at stemming financial market panic unleashed by the failure of two American banks earlier this month. "UBS today announced the takeover of Credit Suisse," the Swiss National Bank said in a statement. It said the rescue would "secure financial stability and protect the Swiss economy." Read more here.
Bidens to host 'Ted Lasso' cast to promote mental health | President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden will host the cast of the TV series "Ted Lasso" at the White House on Monday to promote mental health and well-being. Jason Sudeikis, who plays the title character — an American coaching a soccer team in London — and other members of the cast will meet with the Bidens "to discuss the importance of addressing your mental health to promote overall wellbeing," the White House said. TODAY'S WEATHER OUTLOOK
Meteorologist Tamara Berg says Northern California is mostly drying out Monday morning, but there are still some lingering showers along the west slope for those trying to travel across the Sierra. Today will be a mix of sunshine and clouds, with temperatures in the low-50s by 9 a.m., reaching the mid-50s by 11 a.m. and topping out in the upper-50s by 3 p.m.
