GRAFTON, W.Va. — The two men involved in a Memorial Day shooting at the Grafton Walmart are Pennsylvania residents, and one had an outstanding warrant, according to the Taylor County Prosecutor’s Office.
William Tucker Jenkins, 23, allegedly fired three times in the store, hitting Clayton Allen Anderson, 26, twice—once in the leg and once in the hand.
Jenkins then fled toward Marion County, with police following. When his vehicle became disabled, Jenkins shot himself.
Jenkins had outstanding warrants from Pennsylvania for failure to appear and driving under the influence of drugs.
Taylor County Prosecutor John Bord said Jenkins and Anderson were part of a group of five suspects that had stopped at other stores that day, including in Morgantown, looking for tree spikes. All five subjects were in different parts of the store when the shots were fired.
Due to the nature of his injuries, investigators have not been able to speak with Jenkins about the incident yet.
Jenkins has been charged with wanton endangerment and attempted murder.
