Sgt. Maynard an inspiration to become a donor
CHARLESTON, W.Va. — An organ donation group is admiring the efforts of the recently fallen state trooper, Sgt. Cory Maynard, who gave his tissues after his death. Within 24 hours after Maynard was shot and killed in the line of duty nearly a week ago today, his body was taken to a tissue donation facility. The Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE) West Virginia Outreach Coordinator, Cheryl King said Maynard lives on through such a bequest.
One Transported to United Hospital Center as Result of Weekend Accident as Truck Hits a Side-by-Side
WBOY is reporting that one person was transported to the hospital after an accident in Grafton Sunday evening. According to Harrison County 911, around 7:30 p.m., a truck that was pulling a boat on George Washington Highway struck a Side-By-Side (SxS). As a result, one person was transported to the United Hospital Center.

Crews respond to vehicle fire in Worthington
WORTHINGTON, W.Va (WDTV) - Emergency crews responded to a vehicle fire in Worthington Wednesday afternoon. According to the Marion County 911 Center, the fire was reported at around 2:50 p.m. near the intersection of Freedom Hwy and Helens Run Rd. in Worthington. 911 officials say no injuries have been reported.
Former City of Clarksburg employee sentenced for embezzling more than $85K
CLARKSBURG, W.Va (WDTV) - A former City of Clarksburg employee was sentenced on Friday for embezzling more than $85,000. Suzette Wagner was sentenced by Harrison County Chief Circuit Judge Christopher McCarthy to 1-10 years, which will be served on home confinement, according to a release from the State Auditor’s Office.

Police Identify Woman Killed in Tuesday Vehicle Crash
According to WDTV, authorities have identified the victim of a fatal crash in Fairmont. The crash happened Tuesday morning near the intersection of Locust Ave. and Oakwood Rd. Fairmont Police told 5 News Sandra Wyont, 64, of Fairmont, died from injuries sustained in the crash. The vehicle Wyont was a passenger in failed to stop at a stop sign and hit another vehicle, police said.
