MILWAUKEE - A Milwaukee teen is now charged in connection to not one but two homicides – and those killings happened just days apart. In August 2023, 17-year-old Zakirah Burris met up with 16-year-old Mykel McKinney at an apartment building at Granville and Bradley roads. In what court documents say was a possible gun sale, Burris got shot and was killed.

This Milwaukee Walmart will close in May, laying off 105 workers
The Walmart on 70th and Main Street in the Fair Park neighborhood in Milwaukee is planning to close on May 17, according the company. On Friday, the company sent a letter to the state Department of Workforce Development, Mayor Cavalier Johnson and Milwaukee County Chairwoman Marcelia Nicholson, informing them of the closure and that 105 people would be laid off.
