Third suspect arrested in Gloversville explosions investigation

GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — A third man was arrested in the Gloversville explosion investigation. Emory Ostrander (54, Gloversville), faces multiple charges.

Around 6:45 Friday night, Ostrander was arrested and identified as the remaining suspect at large related to the Helwig Street explosions that happened on Wednesday, per Gloversville Police.

Austin Kellogg and Stephen Politsch were both arrested on April 19.

Police found two separate scenes with evidence of the detonation of explosions at both locations. After an investigation involving the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, the New York State Police Bomb Disposal Unit, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, both Kellogg and Politsch were arrested and charged in connection to the explosions.

Charges:

  • Second-degree conspiracy
  • First-degree arson

Ostrander was arraigned in Gloversville City Court and was remanded to the Fulton County Correctional Facility without bail. At this time, police say there is no known ongoing threat to the public, and no additional suspects are being sought out.
