Woman pulled from river in Alton early Monday
Alton police and firefighters were called to Riverfront Park early Monday to the report of a woman who either fell into or jumped into the Mississippi River. She was eventually pulled to safety thanks to the use of the Alton fireboat but was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Police cannot go into details of the incident, but Major John Franke says it did not involve a criminal act.
Group headed to a bar robbed in Soulard early Monday
ST. LOUIS — Two women and a man were robbed and carjacked in Soulard early Monday morning. Police say the suspects drove away in their car. Three people were walking to a nearby bar at around 3 a.m. when an older, dark-colored Cadillac sedan approached them. The robbers got out of the vehicle and one of them was armed with a handgun. He held it to the man’s head and told the women to get on the ground. They told the victims to hand over their wallets and cellphones.

Man pleads guilty in Jefferson County Court to drug, weapons charges
JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 43-year-old East St. Louis man was sentenced to prison last week in Jefferson County Court after he pleaded guilty to drug and weapons charges. Kelvin Dees was already on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections when Mt. Vernon police arrested him in March on charges of Class X felony armed violence, Class 3 being a felon in possession of a firearm and Class 2 felony possession of between 5 and 15 grams of methamphetamine.

South Roxana man dies after being found in creek
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) - A man from South Roxana died after he was found in a Wood River Creek Friday. Trever J. Oliver was found with his head submerged in Wood River Creek near the intersection of Wood River Creek and East Broadway just after 6 p.m. The 33-year-old was pulled to shore by Alton officers.
