A man from Seaford is facing numerous charges after a domestic violence incident led to a police chase in Glasgow and Bear.

The incident began shortly after 11:30 p.m. April 25 when the victim called 911 to report that her ex-boyfriend, 20-year-old Noah Howell, was chasing her in his vehicle, police said. The woman was in her own car, heading to seek help at Delaware State Police Troop 2 off Pulaski Highway in Glasgow.

Howell crashed his SUV into the woman's car multiple times, then climbed on the hood of her car after they both arrived at Troop 2, police said. Howell got back into his SUV, and a state trooper tried to grab him through an open window, but he accelerated, throwing the trooper from the vehicle.

Howell's SUV hit a barrier in the Troop 2 parking lot, and he then drove to the adjacent Keene Elementary School, where he drove through a metal fence, police said.

Once Howell got back onto Pulaski Highway, he led police on a chase until he crashed his vehicle into a DART bus at the intersection of Del. 1 and Del. 72, according to authorities. He tried to run away but was quickly apprehended.

Howell smelled of alcohol, and troopers found several empty liquor bottles in his SUV, police said.

After being treated at a hospital, Howell was charged with more than a dozen offenses, including DUI, reckless endangering, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, driving with a suspended or revoked license and disregarding a police officer's signal. He was jailed after failing to post $32,700 cash bond.

Three state troopers were injured during the incident and were treated and released from Christiana Hospital.
